Daniel Brink

I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia, USA. I have been a Middle and High School Mathematics teacher, Head of Department, Deputy Principal and Principal in schools in South Africa, Namibia and the USA for 22 years.

My strength as a mathematics teacher is to break complex topics down to their root building blocks. I do that effectively in the classes I teach, in the encryption course I teach on Udemy, and on this SAT practice website.

My Udemy course has sold 290 times and has a 4.7-star rating — the highest of any encryption course. My TPT store focuses on connecting real-life mathematics to the math we do in classrooms, and it has a 4.9 rating.

I have been training mathematics teachers, organizing, attending and speaking at mathematics conferences for 17 years.

I founded a professional society for teachers in South Africa called the School Support Center, as well as an online school called the Cloud School. The SSC currently has more than 6,000 members, and the Cloud School has more than 117,000 registered students. I love all mathematics, but especially Number Theory — for its power, but also its accessibility to all people.

I am a family man, husband to Lise — a physical therapist and stay-at-home mom — and father to three children: Mieke (23), Johann (19) and Daniel (11). I love sports, especially rugby, which I played and coached for 19 years. I do road and trail running and have completed 6 marathons, 4 multi-day stage races and one ultramarathon.
